It was just one of those days on Saturday. The plan was we would go to Fantasia golf mid morning and then head to Downtown Disney getting back early evening for an early night.
Well.... we left a little later than Mummy had hoped which wouldn't have been so bad had all the information been right about catching a bus to the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. We took a Monorail to the Ticket and Transportation centre as every website and blog Daddy read had advised. Once there we found we had to go back to the Magic Kingdom to get the bus - so we could have got there by walking!! So.... we had to Catch the ferry back across to magic kingdom (well we could have done the Monorail but I hadn't done the Ferry yet) and then wait for a bus.
The one thing with being at the Contemporary resort is that it takes a long time to get anywhere other than Magic Kingdom and to some extent EPCOT. On this bus journey I decided I would have a snooze.
It was lunchtime when we got to The Swan and then we walked to Fantasia Gardens Mini golf. Well, we were going to have to wait and hour and then play for 45 mins so Mummy and Daddy said that we would go back another day and just head to Downtown Disney as I was hungry. So it was then a walk back to the hotel and wait for a Downtown Disney bus which then stopped at every Hotel in the EPCOT resort area. Boy was I pleased to get to Wolfgang Pucks Cafe to have some lunch. Mummy and Daddy like to eat here as you get really good meals. Mummy had spaghetti and meatballs and Daddy had his favourite meatloaf dish. I of course had Chicken Fingers!!
Once we had eaten it was off shopping - Mummy had told me that there were lots of shops and they were big but I didn't realise they would be mind blowingly big for a little girl. Really there was just too much for me to look at and take in but Mummy and Daddy picked me up a couple of bits and then I went to the Lego store which was the one shop I wanted to go to. It was really busy and loud so I was a little overwhelmed to concentrate on everything that was there. I really hoped they would have the Frozen Lego but they didn't so I got a Princess Jasmine set and some bits of Lego friends that were sale items and they gave me a free lego city construction set.
After a later than planned icecream from Ghirardelli (Mamar they were really good!!) we headed to the bus stop to go back to the apartment.
Downtown Disney is right opposite our Home DVC resort Saratoga Springs where we normally stay and heading there made Mummy and Daddy realise that although, the apartment at bay lake is totally amazing and for this trip where I want to be in MK A LOT it is perfect, next time we will go back home. Apparently they say it is much more central for everything and we can walk into Downtown all the time for food and refreshments. Buses seem more frequent there too (other than at Epcot where buses are always unpredictable!!)
The one thing that I just cant work out over here are the Toilets. Firstly I need to call them restrooms and no-one asks for a "wee" or "the loo" it's "potty" or "bathroom" - I need to learn these terms for when we move to the States one day (in Mummy and Daddy's dreams - Mamar/Grandad/Mushu would need to move too!). Well this is not the only random thing - the public toilets here flush themselves and yesterday the ones in Downton Disney seemed to want to take me with them as they flushed while I was still sat on them!!! I really didn't like this one bit!
Sunday brings us a day at EPCOT where I am going to ride though imagination with Figment and his smelly skunk stench and then apparently I can go soarin' across California and I'm hoping to have a chat with Crush the Turtle!!
No pics today I'm afraid will have some tomorrow I promise.
Chat soon
Love Amelia xx
