Brrrrrr - not a warm welcome home

Well we are back and boy was the temperature a shock to the system. Mummy and Daddy knew it wasn't going to be nice when we arrived back but they really felt the cold after enjoying temps in the high 70's - low 80's! They had dressed me nice and warm so it wasn't so bad for me!!
After packing the cases and leaving the room and view for the last time our day on Friday was spent in the Magic Kingdom. I was feeling a bit dopey as my cough had turned into a cold and I wasn't wanting to eat very much. Mummy knew just the thing to get me to eat - a trip to Main Street Bakery! I shared a croissant with Daddy (well I let Daddy have a little bit!!!) and Mummy was a piggy and ate a whole cinnamon bun on her own. Mummy and Daddy took me to Tommorrowland and we travelled on the Tomorrowland Transportation Authority PeopleMover around Tomorrowland and then we went to watch Carousel of Progress. I didn't really "get" the whole carousel of progress thing but Mummy and Daddy said it was very important as Walt Disney Designed and built the for the New York World's Fair back in the 60's and it won lots of awards and it was the start of many of the attractions I have been on during my stay. Mummy was singing the tune in my ear (not annoying at all Mummy!!!!) and told me it was written by the Shermann brothers whoever they are. Apparently I will be getting to know their music in the coming days as Mummy and Daddy brought a double CD of it while we were away!

After lunch I fell asleep and woke up stopped on the main street sidewalk and along walked the Dapper Dan's. They are a barber shop quartet and they stopped to sing Christmas songs to us. It was cool and well timed as we hadn't seen them properly during our stay. Just as they were finishing their 3rd Christmas song and announcement came that the parade was on its way and the music started. I love the Parade the music is fun and all the characters talk and wave to me. The Princess' even blow me kisses.

When the parade had gone it was time to leave the magic for the last time and head back to the resort to get ready for our trip to the airport. Terry picked us up in his smart SUV. He was showing it to us for our next trip when we planned to take Grandma and Granddad with us as it has plenty of seats and luggage room. I think it was because our luggage didn't fit in his town car properly when he picked us up lol. Check in was pain free and security checks were not as bad as the media are making them out to be there as there were no full body scanners. Unfortunately the stroller broke at the airport so Mummy had to carry me around to the gate. The good thing was there was not much waiting time at the airport and as I am under 2 we were allowed to board before the others (they do these things right in America!!).

We touched down back in Gatwick at 9am yesterday morning. It was a pleasant flight and I slept for the majority of it but on Mummy not in the Sky cot. I didn't think too much of the sky cot - it didn't give me room to move in my sleep like I like to do. Also we had some turbulence and I had to be strapped to Mummy when the seat belt signs were on which was quite a long time. I think she quite like it really as I was like a hot water bottle keeping her warm!!

We then had our car journey home which I slept through mostly. We had a couple of stops and Mummy drove the last part of the way as Daddy's eyes had had enough. I was pleased to be back in our house as the toys Mummy couldn't pack were here - I had missed my cookie jar and walker. I was a little grumpy and slept on and off until 1am so Mummy stayed up with me (after getting an hours nap between 7 and 8pm. Mummy used the time to start catching up on Strictly Come Dancing and It takes two with Claudia - she makes me laugh.

Today I really am grumpy and whingey. My cold has really come out and it is cold and miserable weather. We went for lunch at Grandma and Granddad's - it was nice to see them again and I got to eat some of the veg and chicken from the roast dinner :) I have had enough of this jarred food - I want proper food now like Mummy and Daddy so Mummy will need to get busy in the kitchen (and not just making cakes and biscuits!!!!).

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my trip as much as I enjoyed being there and writing about my adventures. I did many new things on the trip and it has been nice to document them in this way for years to come. I do plan to carry on writing this blog but I plan it to be more weekly than daily as Mummy limits the time I am allowed on the computer and really everyday life is nowhere near as exciting as time in the magic of Disney.

I look forward to telling you about my latest adventures again soon.

Love
Amelia x
